Brdr. Friis Møbler is accused of accepting cash payments of 20,000 kroner or more on multiple occasions, breaching Denmark's "cash ceiling" law designed to prevent money laundering. The prosecution, led by the National Unit for Serious Crime (NSK), is seeking a fine of 175,000 kroner.

Founded in 1980 in Brønshøj, Brdr. Friis Møbler expanded with a second store in Søborg 15 years later and operates a webshop. The company, officially registered as Brdr. Johansen Møbler, reported a profit of 17.7 million kroner in 2023/24, up from 14.2 million kroner the previous year.

The business has recorded multi-million-kroner profits since 2017, peaking in 2020/21 with earnings of 29.6 million kroner. It currently has 22 employees. Casper Friis is listed as the general manager and owner, with Casper Friis Holding holding a 67% stake in the company.
