Plastic Guys redefines interior design with recycled plastic

'Architects and designers across Europe are embracing this panels for their aesthetics and structural integrity'

At the time when sustainability is no longer optional, Plastic Guys are proving that recycled plastic can be the future of interior design. Founded by Marco Aulisa and Ondřej Venclík, two graduates from Brno University of Technology, the company is turning everyday plastic waste into high-quality, durable, and visually striking materials that rival traditional design elements. From high-end cafés and restaurants to large-scale construction projects and private residences, their innovative approach is reshaping how we perceive plastic.

A circular vision for design
Plastic Guys emerged from a simple but powerful realization: the plastic we use daily has a longer lifespan than we imagine. Instead of being discarded, it can be transformed into durable surfaces and structures. Their signature product, panels, is a prime example – a versatile sheet material that can be reheated, reshaped, and fully recycled up to 7 times. By ensuring their panels consist of a single type of plastic without additives, they guarantee full recyclability and prevent waste from ending up in landfills or incinerators.

From local beginnings to global impact
What started as a small team is now expanding rapidly. Currently eight members strong, Plastic Guys will grow their production in 2025, launching the largest production format in the world. The company is also expanding across Europe while maintaining a strong commitment to local sourcing and processing. Rather than shipping materials overseas, they aim to establish new production sites abroad, ensuring sustainability at every level.

Real-world applications
Architects and designers across Central Europe are embracing this panels for their aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. Unlike conventional plastic, these panels mimic the look of natural stone yet remain lightweight, flexible, and even backlit for added design versatility. Recent collaborations include major brands like Adidas, MM cité, and Ambiente restaurant chain in Prague, with applications ranging from sleek office interiors to large-scale architectural facades.

Plastic Guys' impact goes beyond just selling materials — they are actively shaping industry conversations. Their upcoming conferences in Brno, Prague, and Bratislava will bring together architects and designers to discuss the future of recycled materials. Additionally, they will unveil two new furniture brands and many new panel textures in 2025, further solidifying their position as pioneers in sustainable design.

Sustainability meets affordability
Despite their high-end look and durability, panels are more affordable than many traditional materials, even undercutting solid wood furniture in price. This accessibility ensures that sustainability is not just a luxury but a standard for modern interiors.

Plastic Guys are redefining what's possible with recycled materials. As the world moves toward greener solutions, their work is proof that sustainability can be both practical and beautiful. With continued innovation and expansion on the horizon, they are set to become key players in the future of interior design.
