Interview with Sweden Country Manager Fatou Manneh and Lela Djurdjevic, from sales

Porcelanosa breaks through in Sweden

'Looking back on 2024, it has been a year of solid growth and consolidation for Porcelanosa Scandinavia in Sweden. We've strengthened our presence, expanded our reach, and built strong relationships within the market. This period has laid a strong foundation for further development, and we are excited about the opportunities that 2025 will bring,' explain Fatou Manneh, countrymanager, and Lela Djurdjevic, from the sales, at the Spanish brand Porcelanosa. We interview them about the significant steps the company is making in the Scandinavian market, including their first store in Sweden. 'We are happy to welcome, new and old customers soon to our new store. To explore the core of Porcelanosa: quality, uniqueness, and availability.'

What was the biggest challenge for the industry in 2024?
'The economic situation has led to several layoffs, particularly in the architecture sector, and many developers have had to put upcoming projects on hold. However, we are witnessing a gradual recovery, and we approach 2025 with optimism, ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges.'

There are already some exciting plans at Porcelanosa in 2025, among which the first store in Sweden. Can you tell us more about this?
'We have found a good location full of activity 7 days a week. We will present all of our seven brands, and we will welcome both professionals and private customers. And we are sure our store opening will attract many curious visitors. The new Porcelanosa store will be located at Karlavägen 64 Stockholm.'

How is the market in Sweden right now? Did you notice any challenges or opportunities when planning the new store?
'The market in Sweden is showing signs of improvement. While challenges remain, our diverse product portfolio across multiple segments provides resilience, allowing us to navigate fluctuations more effectively than if we were focused on a single field. This versatility has been a key advantage when planning our new store, enabling us to adapt to market demands and seize emerging opportunities.'

You also attended the Stockholm Furniture Fair this year. What did you showcase at the fair?
'At the fair we were showcasing several materials combined in an apartment. Gamadecor Kitchen and wardrobes, our wall tiles with unique feel and texture. We believe strong in our new travertine look, the wall and floor tile, Taranto. We got a lot of amazing feedback regarding that model. Nice bathroom items from Noken. Xtone materials with new structure and KRION who was showing a bathtub and materials as FITWALL wall panels. The mosaics we had from L`Antic Colonial was highly appreciated for its high-quality finish and colours.'
