JYSK will open its first shops in Morocco in April. Interest is high, with more than 5,000 applications for the available positions already, even before the official opening. Although the shops are not yet open, there is already a lot of interest in the vacancies in Morocco as JYSK prepares to launch in the country. The first shops will open in Casablanca.
"We expect to hire 50 new colleagues in Morocco by the end of the year. It is great to see how many applications we have already received. We are proud of the interest in JYSK, especially in a market where we are not yet well known. The people in Morocco have given us a warm welcome - both the new colleagues and the business partners," says Mikael Nielsen, Executive Vice President Retail at JYSK.
Initially, JYSK will open two shops, together with a webshop. There are already advanced plans to open more shops in Morocco.
Training in Denmark
So far, 18 new colleagues have been hired in Morocco, including five shop managers, two logistics staff and 11 administrative staff for the local head office in Casablanca.
The training and onboarding of our new colleagues in the JYSK values is going well. Fortunately, we have a lot of experience working in different countries and with diverse cultures. We understand how important it is to embrace differences while applying the practices that make JYSK successful," says Igor Raić, Country Director of JYSK Morocco.
He continues: "Our new colleagues have already been trained - at the head office in Denmark or in one of our other JYSK countries. They are well prepared to open our first shops in Morocco and guide our future colleagues with JYSK's values."
The recruitment process will continue throughout the year as more shops are expected to open.
