In 2008, Vondom was established with the vision of creating furniture and planters that embody a clean and bold aesthetic. This pioneering approach has shaped the company's journey, driving efforts to adopt circular manufacturing processes aimed at strengthening the connection between people and nature. Recently, Vondom achieved a significant milestone with the ISO 14001:2015 certification, recognising its initiatives to minimise waste, optimise processes, and implement environmentally responsible practices.
In 2019, the company initiated a transformation in outdoor furniture design, prioritising sustainability. This commitment is reflected in collections crafted from recycled materials, designed for longevity while paying tribute to the natural environment. The ISO 14001:2015 certification affirms Vondom's dedication to resource efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible management. Beyond being a formal recognition, it serves as motivation to refine sustainability goals further.
Over the past two years, Vondom has successfully reduced its carbon footprint by 14.13% and aims to achieve further reductions by 2025 through best practices and efficiency improvements. Procurement processes are being optimised to align with environmental commitments and minimise impact.
The company's sustainability efforts begin with the selection of natural and fully recyclable materials, including 100% recyclable polyethylene, polypropylene with recovered content, and FSC-certified teak and iroko wood. Additionally, aluminium, high-quality acrylic fabrics, and recycled polypropylene carpets are incorporated to maintain a balance between environmental responsibility and creative expression.
Clean energy is a key focus, with photovoltaic panels installed in 2022 generating 1,429,998 kWh annually, preventing 908,895 kg of CO₂ emissions—the equivalent of planting 60,000 trees. Production processes are closely monitored to enhance energy efficiency and reduce waste.
Looking towards 2030, Vondom has set clear goals to lower CO₂ emissions, increase the use of recovered materials, adopt 100% FSC-certified wood, and integrate clean energy into all operations. Every initiative aligns with the brand's mission to harmonise creativity, durability, and environmental consciousness.
