Westwing, a leading furniture retailer with a gross merchandise volume (GMV) of half a billion, has successfully launched a unified tech stack in collaboration with Patchworks. This move was highlighted during Shopify's results call by Harley Finkelstein.

The new system was self-built by Westwing's team using Patchworks' training materials, with support from the Patchworks tech team. The project followed an iterative approach, allowing the launch of the first site in under three months. Additionally, Westwing successfully navigated its first Black Friday-Cyber Monday (BFCM) weekend on the new platform, showcasing the power of modern, auto-scaling SaaS architecture.
Patchworks, a member of the MACH Alliance, fulfilled a key requirement by supporting 'publish subscribe patterns' and events (RabbitMQ). Their micro-service architecture allowed for smoother transitions and faster delivery compared to traditional integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) solutions.
In partnership with Patchworks, Westwing integrated several key platforms, including Braze, Snowflake, and Salsify. The company used Patchworks' connector builder for Braze, which was not available in the marketplace at the time.
Patchworks offers a platform for enterprise Shopify merchant integrations, and those interested can learn more or sign up for training through Patchworks' website and Shopify app.
