Janssens Orient Tilburg had a very successful edition of the Spring Trade Days. During the VAKdagen in the Woonindustrie, the rug supplier presented a wide range of innovative collections. Despite a slight drop in the number of visitors in the showroom, the talks and contacts were of high quality. In particular, the introduction of tufted rugs produced by robots was well received. "We find that automation helps us deliver even more consistent quality at a competitive price," said Patrick Janssens, managing director of Janssens Orient Tilburg.

Colour gains ground
What stands out in Janssens Oriënt's offering is the increasing role of colour. Although natural tones still dominate, more and more retailers are opting for colourful rugs to make their showrooms more dynamic. This could indicate a market shift where boldness and expression play a bigger role in interior styles. "We see that consumers are increasingly looking for something unique and dare to move away from traditional neutral shades," says Janssens.
Innovation and affordable quality
Janssens Orient is strongly committed to innovation and high-quality materials at an accessible price. This is evidenced by the introduction of several new collections:
-
Harrier collection: made of 100% New Zealand wool, offers a luxurious look at an attractive price of €369 (2.30 x 1.60 metres).
-
Murthal collection: a combination of wool and recycled PET bottles, with a subtle sheen and environmentally conscious production. Priced at €329, this collection offers a stylish and responsible choice.
Focus on sustainability
The demand for ecologically responsible products is growing, and Janssens Orient responds to this with sustainable collections:
-
Venue collection: a heavy floorplate of 4.6 kg per square metre with a luxurious, soft feel and made of 100% New Zealand wool (€739 for 2.30 x 1.60 metres).
-
Safar collection: made entirely from recycled PET bottles and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. "Sustainability is no longer a trend, but a requirement in the market. We want consumers to make conscious choices without compromising on quality," Janssens stresses.
Crowd puller: the Sukh collection
During the spring trade days, the Sukh collection was the absolute crowd-puller. These hand-knotted rugs made of 100% New Zealand wool combine traditional craftsmanship with a modern look. The black and white base appeals to a wide audience, but several colour variants are also available. Priced at €1,095 for a size of 2.40 x 1.70 metres, this collection offers a luxurious but accessible option. "We want to preserve craftsmanship, but at the same time innovate in design and production," says Janssens.
New innovations and customisation options
In addition to the existing collections, Janssens Orient also introduced:
-
Jaws collection: a hand-knotted wool and jute rug with a robust, natural look (€679).
-
Novum collection: updated with 50 new designs, created with a sublimated printing process. Dealers can even have their own design printed for a minimum order of 300 square metres. "Customisation is becoming increasingly important and we want to offer the right options in this," says Janssens.
-
Hand-tufted rugs: made of hand-spun wool, with an extremely fine finish of 3 million dots per square metre.
-
Mirana collection: a blend of 80% viscose and 20% crimp acrylic, with a silky sheen and luxurious feel (€995).
With this wide range, Janssens Orient Tilburg once again proves that innovation, sustainability and craftsmanship go perfectly together.
