Prominent furniture brand returns to physical retail in March

In March, a well-known home furnishings brand will make its return to physical retail with the opening of a warehouse outlet in Gardenia, California. The new location will offer exclusive deals and aim to support community recovery efforts following the recent LA wildfires. The store will provide affordable home furnishings while making significant donations to local relief efforts.

Following the opening of Z Gallerie in California, further pop-up locations are planned, with Texas cities such as Houston or Dallas being the next potential destinations. These new stores are part of a broader strategy to reconnect with loyal customers and engage a new generation, blending luxury design with an omnichannel experience.

The move marks a pivotal moment in the brand's revival, following its acquisition by Karat Home in January 2024. Karat Home CEO Scarlett Fan emphasised that establishing a physical presence is key to the brand's identity. While maintaining a strong online presence, she noted, 'nothing compares to the immersive, tactile experience of visiting a store,' as it allows customers to experience textures, craftsmanship, and design in person.

The company plans to enhance its online platform with new features, including a wedding registry, wishlist, and buy-now-pay-later options. These updates are designed to complement the evolving physical retail presence, ensuring a seamless omnichannel experience.

As part of the brand's rebirth, Karat Home is also introducing a designer collaboration with Nikki Chu. This collection, known for bold textures and sophisticated colour palettes, will be a prominent feature in the brand's new offerings.
