Jun in Japanese means "pure and sincere" and never could a name be more fitting for a collection that aims to strike straight at the heart. The eponymous creation designed by fresh Compasso d'Oro winner Marco Acerbis for Talenti, a multi-award-winning high-end outdoor brand, bets on an immediate and authentic design, without rhetorical artifices or redundancies.
And it is precisely from these principles that the inspiration for a family of furnishings with a clear and precious design was born. An intrinsic value whose beauty is clearly expressed through the choice of displaying wood in an elegant and balanced way, enhancing the attention to detail.
The mood
'The main characteristics of Jun, the new collection designed by me for Talenti,' explains Acerbis, 'are the balance due to the interplay between the voluminousness of the cushions and the very clean lines of the structure.
A structure that merges with the fabrics of the backrest and armrest upholstery almost as if they were one, giving a sense of semi-dimensionality.' The perception and character of this collection is therefore based not only on an intense 'sense of nature', but also on this duality between minimalism and objects of volume that trigger an aesthetic big bang combining great comfort and visual presence.
The materials between minimal and curvy
The teak structure with very soft curves favours the two-dimensional perception and shows how the designer was able to overcome the most complex challenge, that of keeping the thickness of the wood to a minimum by reducing the size of the backrest, precisely to let the cushions take centre stage, much softer, much more voluminous, 'but still quite stretched' - as the designer says. 'It was not a very quick and easy process because I wanted something that gave a sense of softness but remained sufficiently parallel to the ground without becoming too exuberant. It was a challenge, but we are really satisfied.'
A new material was also introduced for the table: it is a porcelain stoneware with glass effect and a wooden frame, also in teak, supported by very important and very designed legs, but which remain set back from the presence of the table top. In this way, the aesthetic harmony with the shapes of the sofas is combined with a great practicality given by the ability to increase the leg space available, favouring unparalleled comfort.
Outdoor in technicolour
Light blue, green and beige; these are some of the new vibrant colours that Talenti and Acerbis combine with freshness and cheerfulness with the vital force that only wood can instil. Colours that further enhance the generosity of the seats and create a continuum with nature where the blue of the sky blends with the green of plants, trees and meadows.
A complete and harmonious product family
The Jun family is very complete, as always with Talenti's proposals. It is in fact formed not only by the modular sofa but also by a series of accessories including lounge chairs, coffee tables and, of course, declined in its various possibilities, the table. Elements where materials, colours and lines are in complete synergy with a single objective: to offer moments of absolute relaxation.
