Contardi, synonymous with lighting excellence, announces its first collaboration with Controvento, the design studio and multidisciplinary collective co-founded by Gabriele Chiave. The partnership debuts with a lighting collection that will be unveiled at the 63rd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano: Alma.
'This collaboration represents a meeting point between two worlds: Contardi's technical expertise and capacity for innovation and Controvento's creative and visionary approach. Together, we wanted to create a product that not only illuminates, but also tells a story,' declares Massimo Brigandì, General Manager of Contardi.
The collection Alma combines two timeless classics: the fabric shade and the blown glass bubble in which it is immersed, creating a floating, contemporary effect. With three sculptural glass forms, the collection explores versatility through compositions ranging from single installations to striking light compositions. Each element in the collection is designed to transform light into a poetic and surprising presence, redefining space with elegance.
'We wanted to combine two artisanal elements, the fabric lampshade and the blown glass bubble, to create a dialogue between tradition and innovation. The idea was to bring out the magic of two classic materials, which are rediscovered and transformed together, creating a poetic as well as innovative light, capable of moving and amazing,' explains Gabriele Chiave, Co-founder and Creative Director of Controvento.
