Electric blanket recalled over fire safety risk

A recall has been issued for the Snuggla King Size Electric Blanket due to fire safety concerns. The product, which was sold across multiple online platforms including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and TikTok Shop, presents a risk of overheating, which could lead to fires or burns.

The blanket, a white electric under-blanket with a detachable remote control, is packaged in a red and white cardboard box. It was imported from China and has been identified as non-compliant with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. The Office for Product Safety and Standards has confirmed that the blanket's instructions were inadequate, and it lacked the necessary documentation and markings.

Consumers who have purchased the product are urged to stop using it immediately and contact their place of purchase for a refund or further instructions. The product's recall follows concerns over the potential for the blanket or surrounding furniture to catch fire.
