The German kitchen furniture industry, as reported by the Association of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry (VdDK), experienced a 6.48% decline in sales in 2024, following a minor 0.27% drop in 2023. Total revenue for the sector amounted to €5.656 billion.

Domestic sales saw a significant fall of 8.12%, reaching €3 billion, while foreign markets contributed €2.615 billion, reflecting a decline of 4.49%. Within the Eurozone, sales decreased by 6.63%, totalling €1.958 billion. Despite these declines, the export ratio slightly increased to 46.18%, up by 0.95% compared to the previous year.
In December 2024, the industry showed some stabilisation, with overall sales amounting to €348.6 million, marking a slight increase of 0.67%. This growth was primarily driven by international markets, where sales rose by 6.3%, reaching €160.9 million. In the Eurozone, sales saw a modest increase of 1.86%, totalling €121.4 million. However, domestic sales dropped by 3.7%, with revenue at €187.7 million.
The VdDK's report highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the German kitchen furniture sector, which has been affected by broader economic factors. Despite these challenges, the export sector remains relatively stable and continues to contribute significantly to the overall revenue.
