A breakthrough at Maison&Objet Paris
This year, Calma Outdoor made waves at Maison&Objet Paris, marking a milestone in the company's evolution. 'The response was incredible,' says Ricard Vicens, project manager at Calma Outdoor. 'We received a flood of interest from industry professionals and consumers alike.' The event gave Calma the opportunity to showcase its unique approach to outdoor furniture—one that prioritises sustainability, craftsmanship, and adaptability.
More than just a showcase, the fair opened doors to new collaborations and market opportunities. 'It reinforced our belief that people are looking for durable, well-crafted pieces that transform outdoor spaces into true oases of well-being,' Vicens explains. Following this success, the company is already looking ahead to expanding its presence at more international fairs.

Sustainability at the core
In a world where sustainability is no longer optional, Calma Outdoor leads the way in eco-conscious design. 'Sustainability is at the core of our brand philosophy,' says Vicens. 'The company is deeply committed to minimising its environmental impact by working with local artisans and suppliers, which not only supports the regional economy but also reduces carbon emissions associated with transportation.'
Their use of natural and recycled materials reflects this commitment. 'We incorporate wood, ceramics, and even recycled fabrics—like rugs made from plastic bottles—to ensure our designs are as environmentally responsible as they are beautiful,' Vicens explains. By merging traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation, Calma creates furniture that harmonises with nature while preserving it for future generations.
Navigating market trends & future plans
As outdoor living becomes an even bigger lifestyle focus, Calma is poised to meet the evolving demands of consumers. 'People are looking for materials that withstand the elements—like Iroko wood and weather-resistant fabrics,' Vicens notes. Additionally, there is a rising demand for versatile furniture that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. 'Climate change has led to more time spent outside, so people want adaptable, multipurpose designs that fit seamlessly into both settings,' he adds.
Looking ahead, Calma plans to expand its product range to include sofas, tables, loungers, rugs, and even lighting, catering to a growing demand for comprehensive outdoor collections. With ambitions to strengthen its national presence and break into new international markets, Calma remains dedicated to quality, comfort, and timeless design.
As Vicens puts it, 'Our vision is to bring the Mediterranean lifestyle to the world—where nature, light, and design come together in perfect harmony.'
