A Netherlands-based company is making strides in the U.S. market by offering sustainable, recycled plastic surfaces for a variety of interior applications. These surfaces, created from post-consumer plastic waste such as household items, are used for products like tables, countertops, walls, and flooring. The company, led by CEO William Chizhovsky, is committed to diverting plastic from landfills and oceans while creating high-quality, aesthetically pleasing materials.

The Good Plastic Company's flagship product, Polygood, is produced through a unique technology that uses pressure and heat to melt and bond plastic, making it fully recyclable. The material is versatile, with applications ranging from residential furniture to high-end commercial spaces. Notable collaborations include a design collection with architectural firm Gensler, which introduced sophisticated, nature-inspired surfaces to complement Polygood's existing range.
The company's products are Cradle to Cradle certified, fire-resistant, and safe for use in food-related applications. It also offers a take-back programme to recycle the material for future use. Already serving prominent clients like McDonald's and Nike, the company is now focusing on expanding its presence in the U.S. market, with plans to make it their primary market within the next couple of years.
Chizhovsky believes that architects and designers are eager to embrace sustainable materials, and he expects increasing demand for the company's products in the coming years. The company has a warehouse in High Point, North Carolina, and is expanding into hospitality and commercial sectors, with custom design services also available.
