Wickes is expanding its store network by acquiring the leases of four former Homebase locations in Dunfermline, Bury St Edmunds, Leeds Moor Allerton, and Northampton. These stores will reopen under the Wickes brand later this year following refits to align with the retailer's modern store format.

The acquisition is part of Wickes' expansion strategy, allowing it to establish a presence in new catchment areas. Chief executive David Wood stated that the company is 'delighted to be acquiring these former Homebase stores and welcoming all colleagues currently working there into the Wickes family.' He added that the move supports Wickes' growth ambitions and commitment to helping customers with their home improvement projects.
The Dunfermline, Bury St Edmunds, and Leeds Moor Allerton stores will close as Homebase locations on 3 March, with all 55 employees retained by Wickes. The Northampton site, secured prior to Homebase's administration, is currently undergoing redevelopment.
