Klaus Høeg-Hagensen has been dismissed as CEO of Danish furniture company Gubi after nearly five years in the role. He had hoped to remain until the company was sold, but acknowledged that 'it's probably a little while, so I understand why you're shaking things up'.

During his tenure, Høeg-Hagensen navigated significant global challenges, including the pandemic, inflation, geopolitical conflicts, and trade barriers. Despite these obstacles, he described the experience as 'really fun' and valued the problem-solving involved.
Gubi saw substantial financial shifts under his leadership. In 2021, the company recorded a record revenue of DKK 508 million, but by 2023, turnover had declined to DKK 389 million. While profits also fell, Gubi remained profitable throughout. Høeg-Hagensen expressed pride in the company's financial management, particularly in reducing costs when sales slowed.
Chairman Anders Kristiansen stated that Høeg-Hagensen had built a 'strong structure and a well-functioning business'. However, Gubi is now focusing on 'growth and international expansion', leading to the appointment of Marie Kristine Schmidt as the new CEO. Schmidt, previously the company's brand director, officially assumed the role on Monday.
