An explosion occurred at a woodworking manufacturing plant in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on Monday morning. Local reports indicate that the explosion took place in a sawdust-burning furnace, prompting an emergency response from the local fire department.

Firefighters arrived at Mark Richey Woodworking manufacturing plant to find flames along the floor of the furnace silo. The fire was quickly extinguished and remained contained within the silo. No injuries were reported, as all 100 employees had been evacuated before emergency responders arrived.
The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
Mark Richey Woodworking specialises in high-end wood interiors for offices, museums, and restaurants. The company also manufactures corporate and "resimercial" furniture under its WallGoldfinger brand, which it acquired in 2019.
