Designing with purpose: the inspiration behind the "Rio" bed
Woodsoft's latest creation, the "Rio" bed, is designed for children aged one and up, following the Montessori philosophy of encouraging independence. Tetiana explains, 'We received continuous requests from our customers and friends who were looking for a minimalist, stylish, and functional bed for toddlers.' Their own son, Matvii, further inspired the design. 'As we considered where he would sleep, we realised there was no suitable solution on the market that met our expectations. This motivated us to create the Rio bed.'
What sets Rio apart is its adjustable height and protective yet open design, offering security while allowing toddlers to move freely. 'As the child grows, you can attach extra legs to raise the bed to a standard height, ensuring long-term use,' Tetiana adds. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with customers praising its elegant simplicity and adaptability.

Meeting modern demands: future designs in the works
Woodsoft is actively developing new models to cater to evolving consumer needs. 'Meeting our clients' desires is becoming increasingly challenging each year,' says Bohdan. 'Currently, there's a strong demand for minimalist beds with compact dimensions that seamlessly fit into modern interiors.'
To meet this demand, Woodsoft is collaborating with Ukrainian product designers on fresh designs that merge functionality with aesthetic appeal. 'We are optimistic that we will create an exceptional product that surprises our clients with both design and functionality,' Bohdan shares.

Expanding globally: the road to international recognition
Following their participation in Isaloni in Milan, Woodsoft is looking to expand its presence across Europe, with a particular focus on Germany, France, and Italy. 'International exhibitions are an excellent platform for manufacturers to showcase their products and connect with potential partners,' Bohdan explains. 'With the support of the Ukrainian Export Promotion Office and the embassy, we are thrilled to be part of this year's exhibition in Milan.'
Given the limited space available at the event, Woodsoft will present two signature beds—one for adults and one for children. The team hopes to impress industry professionals and secure partnerships that will extend their reach into new markets.
Resilience in times of adversity
Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, Woodsoft has managed to increase production capacity year on year. 'Several factors contribute to our stability,' says Bohdan. 'The unwavering strength of the Ukrainian people, diversification of sales, and a steadfast focus on product quality have been key.'
Their approach to resilience includes optimising costs, continuously developing new models, and maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship. 'Even during the war, we have upheld our values regarding quality and reliability,' Tetiana asserts.

Looking ahead: a future shaped by ambition
Woodsoft's long-term vision includes building a new production facility, expanding its product range, and making its furniture available across Europe. While some plans may only be realised after the war, the company remains proactive. 'We want to demonstrate that it is possible to scale furniture production while maintaining attention to detail and business flexibility, regardless of external challenges,' says Bohdan.
Above all, the team remains deeply connected to Ukraine's future. 'We hope to plan our next exhibitions in a time of peace,' Tetiana shares. 'For now, we are doing everything we can to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and we look forward to a future where every Ukrainian family can welcome their loved ones home.'
