Bretz introduces their new character, "Manyara"

'Come, rest awhile within this wild and beautiful creation. I'm your sanctuary on safari – the life of this place. I'll hold you tight, so you can let go,' Manyara seems to whisper, drawing you down into her cushions.

'With Manyara, we have created a piece of furniture that translates our company philosophy into upholstered furniture: our aim is to inspire the imagination with our furniture. To unite two fundamental but essentially contradictory themes of life. The longing for distant worlds contrasts with the desire for security. Where both find their place, everyday magic is created that inspires again and again.'

Manyara combines the desire for adventure with the feeling of having arrived, the vastness and closeness, distance and home.

The name "Manyara" embodies the breathtaking landscape and vastness of Africa, coupled with a fascination for the unknown, for adventure. The sofa impresses with its clear, generous design language that emphasises both the functionality and the emotionality of the design. The seemingly effortlessly stacked cushions form the basis of the design. They create space to unfold, moments from yesterday resonate and impulses for tomorrow emerge. A safe haven from which freedom sets sail.

With Manyara, the cushion becomes the central design element
On the one hand, the cushions stand for freedom and an informal lifestyle. They pay homage to the 1970s, when people sat on large cushions piled on top of each other on the floor, enjoying the freedom of the moment and philosophising about the world.

On the other hand, cushions appeal to our deeply rooted need for security, deceleration and protection. They stand for a return to the essentials: Touch, imperfection and the moment of stopping. They are reminiscent of the playfulness of improvised retreats. Of a space that adapts to the body, interacts with it - and of the idea that comfort cannot be linear, but multi-layered. This link creates an emotional connection that goes far beyond the purely physical function.

Take a walk on the wild side
The soft velours, from earthy caramel to fiery red and deep burgundy, reflect the colours of Africa and send the senses on a journey. To the shores of Lake Manyara, where the setting sun bathes the landscape in a dramatic interplay of light and shadow - a moment in which time and space blur into one another.

Freedom through design diversity
The modularity and free choice of covers make Manyara a piece of furniture that reflects a free-spirited attitude to life: Classic sofa, sitting area or spacious living area - anything is possible.
