JYSK has achieved a significant milestone in Romania with the opening of its 150th store in Mamaia Nord, Constanța, on 13 March 2025. The new store, located at Bulevardul Mamaia Nord no. 34, marks nearly 18 years since the Scandinavian retailer first entered the Romanian market in 2007.

JYSK's expansion in Romania accelerated after its local franchise was acquired by JYSK Nordic in 2014. Since then, the company has opened between 6 and 18 stores annually, growing its workforce from 500 employees in 2016 to nearly 1,300 today.
'In 2021, we reached our initial goal of 100 stores in Romania. Coincidentally, the 100th store is also in Constanța. Then we raised the bar higher and set a new goal: 200 stores,' said Iraida Paiuc, Sales and Marketing Manager JYSK Romania and Bulgaria. She emphasised that proximity to customers is a priority, with stores opening in small and medium-sized towns as well as major cities.
The new JYSK Mamaia Nord store, covering 1,150 sqm, is described as 'probably the most beautifully located JYSK store in the country,' positioned near Lake Siutghiol and the Black Sea. The opening is being celebrated with discounts of up to 75% on over 2,000 products from 13 to 19 March 2025.
Luminița Diciu, Store Manager at JYSK Mamaia Nord, was also present at the 100th store opening in Constanța. 'The JYSK Mamaia Nord team is eagerly awaiting the opening. The event will be special, with many surprises for customers, music, balloons, great offers, and a breakfast to energise customers,' she said.
JYSK's expansion in Romania continues, with the company now targeting 200 stores across the country.
