A North West-based upholstery manufacturer has started the year with multiple award nominations. The company has been named a finalist in the national Family Business Awards and has also received nominations in two categories at the North West Family Business Awards: the Retail Innovators Award and the North West Manufacturing Excellence Award.

Newman & Bright, one of the few remaining bespoke upholstery workshops in the region, expressed pride in its heritage and ongoing innovation. Managing Director Sam Newmann stated, 'We are beyond delighted to hear that we have made the finals,' adding that the nominations highlight how a nearly 130-year-old business remains competitive in modern manufacturing and retail.

Newmann emphasised the firm's focus on customer service and innovation, stating that it continues to build on the legacy of Philip Neumann while expanding into new markets.
Looking ahead, Newman & Bright has several bespoke projects in development and plans to expand its range. The company is also exploring international growth, particularly in China, where discussions with potential clients are already underway.
