Interview with Alexander Yazdtchi. co-founder of new German brand Fink Studio

'Instead of playing it safe, we introduced something entirely new and bold'

Fink Studio is a bold and innovative sub-brand of Fink Living, a German company with over 20 years of success in timeless design. While Fink Living is known for its elegant silverware and candleholders, Fink Studio embraces bold colours, unconventional materials like resin and metal, and futuristic elements.

Launched as a fresh concept, Fink Studio began with a barware collection, carefully positioned to complement rather than compete with Fink Living. This new direction also introduced reimagined packaging, brand presentation, and custom in-store displays, ensuring a distinctive and cohesive market presence.

InteriorDaily had the opportunity to interview one of the co-founders of Fink Studio, Alexander Yazdtchi, to gain deeper insight into the brand's vision and innovative approach.

Henry Fink
The name Fink naturally originates from Fink Living, which itself was named after its founder, Henry Fink. Henry Fink had always envisioned creating a "Black Collection"—a provocative line that would stand in contrast to Fink Living's traditional designs.

However, this concept was never fully realised. Inspired by his vision, we decided to bring it to life through Fink Studio, adding our own modern, digital, and innovative twist.

Fearless Audience
'To ensure that Fink Studio resonates with a young, bold, and design-conscious audience, we collaborated with renowned design agencies and conducted in-depth market research,' says Alexander Yazdtchi.

'A key focus has been integrating digital and artificial intelligence elements into our designs. In our Pop Art Collection, for example, we incorporate futuristic shapes, such as pill-like forms that seamlessly flow into each other. Beyond product design, we are also pioneering digital marketing strategies, including creating fully digital spaces where products exist as digital twins. This enables us to connect with our audience in an immersive, interactive way.

At the same time, bridging the digital and real worlds is essential for us. Fink Studio is about transforming digital aesthetics into tangible products, reinforcing the importance of real-life experiences, celebrations, and shared moments.'

Ambiente fair
'At Ambiente, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The current market climate is challenging, with many brands hesitant to take risks or invest in new ideas. We deliberately chose the opposite approach, instead of playing it safe, we introduced something entirely new and bold.

This decision proved to be the right one. Customers immediately recognised the freshness and excitement that Fink Studio brings to the market. Our success at the fair confirmed that the industry is ready for innovation, and that Fink Studio delivers exactly that.'

Balancing
Each Fink Studio piece is handcrafted and designed to be long-lasting, ensuring that the products transcend fleeting trends and become statement pieces for a lifetime. 'Our designs are created with the future in mind, carefully developed to remain relevant, timeless, and impactful for years to come.

We do not believe in disposable design. Instead, our products are made to last, to be collected and cherished: "bonds for a lifetime.''

Several new color variations are in development for the new brand, along with entirely new product categories set to be introduced. In addition to portfolio expansion, dynamic marketing strategies are being developed to strengthen the position as an innovative and trend-setting brand.



Most rewarding moments & Challenges
'One of the most rewarding moments in this journey was finding the right manufacturers: suppliers who could translate our vision into reality while maintaining the high-quality standards that Fink stands for. Achieving this level of craftsmanship was a tremendous challenge, but seeing the final results made it all worthwhile.

Another key milestone was standing at Ambiente and seeing our complete collection, packaging, and display setup for the first time in a real-world setting. That was truly rewarding, watching the vision come to life in a way that captured attention and sparked excitement.

And the best part? We're just getting started! We have plenty of surprises in store and are already looking forward to the next product lines and creative marketing campaigns that will take Fink Studio even further,' concludes Alexander.
