JYSK has announced the successful achievement of its sustainability goal, ensuring that all new products and packaging made from wood, cardboard, or paper are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The certification guarantees that materials come from responsibly managed forests that support biodiversity and worker rights.

The company, a long-standing FSC Denmark member since 2006, has been working to increase the share of FSC-certified materials across its product range. This initiative aligns with its broader sustainability strategy, introduced under the "Great Offer for Generations" programme in October 2024. In January 2025, JYSK also committed to sourcing all cotton used in its textiles from more sustainable production, eliminating conventional cotton.
Lars Ringtved Nielsen, JYSK's Director of Compliance and Quality, emphasised the significance of this achievement for the company, suppliers, and customers. He stated that JYSK is committed to maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring that key materials meet recognised certifications, including FSC, OEKO-TEX, Better Cotton, and GRS. Achieving the FSC target reinforces the company's dedication to responsible forestry and sustainable sourcing.
The FSC certification has been in place for over 30 years, ensuring that materials come from forests managed in an environmentally, socially, and economically responsible manner. The initiative aims to protect biodiversity, safeguard endangered species, and support local communities while upholding workers' rights and safety.
