Bauhaus, which had been facing difficulties due to a new software system and government tariffs, announced its closure on March 10, 2025. Following the news, RW Collective swiftly expressed interest in purchasing the company, which operates a 200,000-square-foot plant in Saltillo, Mississippi, employing around 75 workers. The deal has now been finalised, and those employees have joined the RW Collective team.
The RW Collective had long sought to expand its domestic manufacturing footprint, complementing its existing case goods factory in Indonesia. The purchase strengthens its existing partnership with Bauhaus, allowing it to offer a broader product range, including upholstered beds and dining chairs, while reducing lead times and expanding customisation options.
CEO Michael Carey noted, 'Bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. has been a long-term goal, and Bauhaus presented the perfect opportunity.' The company intends to continue producing Bauhaus' upholstery line while enhancing relationships with current customers and vendors. RW Collective's COO Rebekah Osborn added, 'This acquisition strengthens our position in the industry while reinforcing our commitment to domestic manufacturing.'
