F A Henshaw, based in Stockwell Gate, Mansfield, will cease trading on 28 March 2025. The business was founded in 1945 by entrepreneur Frederick Albert Henshaw and has remained a family-run establishment for 80 years.
In a statement, the company described the closure as a moment of "mixed emotions," recognising the store's legacy as a place of "craftsmanship, quality, and service." The business has been passed down through generations, with both Michael Henshaw and the current owner continuing its tradition.
The company expressed gratitude to its customers, stating: 'Whether you've been a loyal customer for decades or just discovered us recently, your support has meant the world.'
Ahead of the closure, all remaining stock is being sold at half price or less, as a final thank you to customers. The company also confirmed that all outstanding orders will be fulfilled.
While the store is closing, the statement acknowledged that the "memories, relationships, and impact" of the business will endure.
