Police detained a man and a woman on Thursday morning, 13 March, after finding a quantity of XTC pills, MDMA and a firearm. A "sink" made of MDMA was later found.
Officers from the National Expertise and Operations Unit saw a car driving away from a residence in Zwijndrecht. The officers decided to check the car, where 6 kg of amphetamine was found. The 35-year-old driver from Nijmegen was immediately detained.
The officers then drove to the residence, where the arrested man had left. At the scene, the occupant left the house with a box in her hand, which she placed near a waste container. The box contained a loaded firearm, further investigation revealed. The woman had probably been warned after the man from Nijmegen was arrested.
Another box standing by the waste container contained a 'sink' made of nearly 4 kg of MDMA. The 33-year-old woman was immediately arrested and detained for questioning.
