Well-known Yahoo filmmaker lists $50 million mansion in Sydney

Title: Filmmaker Warwick Ross has listed his Bellevue Hill mansion for sale with an asking price of $50 million. The six-bedroom residence at 78 Kambala Road, offering panoramic harbour views, will be marketed globally by McGrath Double Bay's Luke Hogan and William Manning through their partnership with Knight Frank.

Ross, known for producing the Yahoo Serious comedies Young Einstein, Reckless Kelly and Mr Accident, purchased the property with his wife Margot in 1996 for $3.27 million. The couple later undertook extensive renovations, including the addition of a Hollywood-style pool and a garage with a studio.

The grand estate, set on a 1,567 sqm block, features formal reception rooms, a sweeping staircase, crystal chandeliers, arched French doors, and a luxurious kitchen equipped with marble benches, Scholtes ovens, and a Gaggenau gas stovetop. The master suite, complete with a dressing room, ensuite, and study, opens onto a terrace overlooking Sydney Harbour. Additional amenities include guest accommodation, an au pair suite, and a triple garage with guest parking.

Ross, who worked on The Blue Lagoon and later produced the award-winning documentaries Red Obsession and Blind Ambition, has shifted his focus to his winery, Portsea Estate, prompting the sale of the mansion.
