XXXLutz has finalised its acquisition of the Polish furniture group Black Red White (BRW), expanding its presence in Poland. The Austrian retailer, one of the world's largest in the sector, had already acquired a 50% stake in BRW in 2022 and has now taken full ownership. The transaction remains subject to approval by competition authorities, and financial details have not been disclosed.

BRW operates 82 stores, 78 of which are in Poland, alongside a network of around 300 retail partners. The company employs over 5,000 people and exports furniture to more than 30 countries. Despite the acquisition, BRW will 'continue to operate under independent management.'
Mariusz Sosnierz, CEO of BRW, stated that joining XXXLutz offers 'the best conditions for future development' in a competitive market, particularly in online furniture sales. He highlighted that strong partnerships and investment are essential to success in the sector.
XXXLutz spokesperson Thomas Saliger welcomed the integration, emphasising the group's commitment to both physical and online retail. He noted that customers value in-store advice and the ability to test furniture before purchasing, while also benefiting from the convenience of e-commerce.
Saliger added that BRW's production facilities would gain from XXXLutz's extensive European presence across 14 countries, offering 'numerous opportunities throughout Europe.'
