The German upholstered furniture industry began 2025 with a decline in sales, as figures from the Federal Statistical Office reveal a drop of 14.43% year-on-year, totalling €71.78 million.

Domestic sales saw a sharper decline, falling by 18.11% to €47.50 million. In contrast, foreign sales experienced a more moderate loss, decreasing by 6.18% to €24.28 million. The export ratio stood at 33.83% in January.
This early setback highlights the challenging conditions faced by the German upholstered furniture industry at the start of the year.
