Lineapelle Interiors 2024 showcases the future of leather in interior design

The second edition of Lineapelle Interiors has concluded with resounding success at Fiera Milano Rho, solidifying leather and Italian materials as key players in innovative interior design. Hosted from 25 to 27 February, the event gathered 37 companies and featured 19 exclusive installations, demonstrating how leather and other materials can enhance the design of floors, walls, furniture, and even entire living spaces.

Lineapelle Interiors was conceived to foster collaborations between the leather industry and the world of design and architecture, both in Italy and internationally. Through carefully curated styling initiatives and product developments, the exhibition offered a dynamic platform to explore new applications for leather in interior design.

'Our event is a model of Design Economy, conceived and strongly desired to support the sector and help design companies become more competitive,' stated Gianni Russo, President of Lineapelle.

The exhibition occupied a 1,000-square-metre space in Pavilion 24, where the synergy between Italian leather manufacturers, innovative materials, and top design firms took centre stage. The installations reflected the evolution of this partnership, presenting cutting-edge applications of Italian craftsmanship in interior design.

'The exceptional quality of Italian leather, with its inherent value, becomes a source of inspiration for architects and designers,' remarked Fulvia Bacchi, CEO of Lineapelle and General Director of UNIC – Concerie Italiane.

A key highlight of the exhibition was the collaboration between 19 pairs of companies, each consisting of an Italian manufacturer specialising in leather or other surface materials and a renowned design studio. These partnerships showcased how Made in Italy semi-finished products can be transformed into high-end design pieces with international appeal.

'The transformation of Made in Italy semi-finished products into design pieces helps to communicate their value, amplifying their international appeal. From the conception of new products to the identification of new markets, research and creativity are the intangible infrastructure of the Italian Design Economy: a system supported by a manufacturing business culture and a strong educational network, both capable of attracting talent on a global scale,' explained Maurizio Molini, Creative Director of Lineapelle Interiors.

The result was a stunning collection of projects that pushed the boundaries of technological and aesthetic innovation in leather and interior materials. Among the standout installations were:
