A major French custom interiors brand has strengthened its international presence with the opening of its first store in Latvia. The new showroom, inaugurated on 2 January 2025 in Riga, marks a significant step in the company's expansion strategy.
Schmidt Groupe, a key player in bespoke interior design, is leading the expansion through its experienced dealer partners, Kairi and Ragnar Põllu, who already operate three stores in Estonia. They stated, 'We are very proud to introduce Schmidt to Latvia and offer our customers a unique approach to custom-made interior design.'
The new showroom aims to provide a premium customer experience, blending local design trends with advanced digital tools, including 3D visualisation for personalised layouts. Despite local adaptations, Schmidt maintains its commitment to "100% French manufacturing," with all products designed and produced in its Alsace-based factories.
With 920 stores across 23 countries, Schmidt is focused on growing its international revenue share from 13% to 20% by 2030. Laurence Negroni, the company's international sales director, highlighted its tailored approach, stating, 'During international developments, we do not duplicate an existing concept, we adapt it for each market, taking into account local specificities, with the same requirement for quality and service.'
This strategic expansion reflects Schmidt's commitment to strengthening its global footprint while maintaining its core values of design excellence, innovation, and quality.
