Seletti, the renowned Italian design brand, is set to captivate audiences at Milan Design Week 2025 with Hotel Voyeur, an innovative collaboration with Tracey Snelling, an American artist based in Berlin. This project—a table lamp replicating the façade of a hotel—blurs the lines between art, design, and personal storytelling. Each of its six windows houses a screen displaying short looping videos, transforming everyday moments into captivating visual narratives.
Visitors to Milan Design Week will have the exclusive opportunity to customise their own Hotel Voyeur lamp by adding personal video content, making each piece unique. The project will also feature a large-scale installation at Seletti's store on Corso Garibaldi 117, powered by Samsung Galaxy technology, further expanding the artistic concept into an immersive experience.
A meeting of art and design
Known for her explorations of voyeurism, architecture, and human interactions, Snelling's work finds a natural synergy with Seletti's playful and ironic approach to design. 'My research has always been influenced by observing the lives of others, and this project with Seletti represents a way to further develop this reflection,' says Tracey Snelling. 'I have always been fascinated by popular places and architecture that people recognise as their own, and since 2002, my work has followed this path of exploration. I was already familiar with Seletti's collaboration with Toilet paper, so I knew the brand had a strong sensitivity toward art, and I believe this project will lead to a further and different evolution of my work.'
Seletti has a long tradition of merging design and contemporary art, as seen in its partnerships with Tatiana Brodatch, Studio Job, and Lady Tarin. Hotel Voyeur continues this legacy by transforming a functional object into an interactive storytelling piece, accessible to a wide audience. 'The encounter between Seletti and art has always been an essential part of our creative journey for over 20 years,' says Stefano Seletti, Artistic Director of Seletti. 'Seletti stands for a refined yet accessible design, making artistic expression something that can be experienced in everyday life. The collaboration with Tracey Snelling follows this philosophy, blending storytelling, observation, and design into a single concept. Hotel Voyeur embodies our constant desire to transform artistic visions into tangible objects, allowing people to interact with and reflect upon them in new ways.'
An immersive experience at Milan Design Week
During Milan Design Week, visitors will be invited to step into the world of Hotel Voyeur at Seletti's store on Corso Garibaldi 117. A special set will allow guests to record their own videos using the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which will be projected onto the store's façade and available for personalisation of the lamp. This interaction transforms Hotel Voyeur from a static design object into a participatory artistic experience.
The concept extends further with a site-specific installation, recreating the hotel façade at full scale. Inside, visitors will find a meticulously staged hotel room featuring vintage furnishings, screens, mirrors, and projections, creating an interplay between public and private space. The installation, powered by Samsung's Lifestyle The Frame 4K TVs, ensures high-definition video display, even in brightly lit environments.
A journey of creativity and innovation
Seletti's Milan Design Week 2025 showcase will also include the Voyeur Café, an intimate space within the brand's secret garden, in collaboration with Moak Coffee. Here, visitors can enjoy a sensory experience with Moak's premium coffee blends, set in an atmosphere designed for conversation and artistic discovery.
Among Seletti's latest launches is Superfurniture, a bold new vision for furniture, along with a collection of new lamps, decorative pieces, and accessories, each infused with Seletti's signature irony and visionary approach.
