A New York City loft featured in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada has been listed for $8.95 million. The SoHo apartment, recognised as the home of the character James Holt, was the setting for a pivotal party scene in the film.
Located on Crosby Street in Downtown Manhattan, the loft occupies the third floor of a nine-unit building originally constructed in 1900 as a department store before being converted into condominiums in 1999. The property is listed with Jacques Foussard, Filipacchi, and Jason Schuchman of Brown Harris Stevens.
The current owners, Sara and Marc Schiller, founders of a design concept store, purchased the loft in 2000. Property records do not disclose the amount they paid.
A striking feature of the 3,600-square-foot home is a 120-foot-long exposed brick wall with arches. The great room boasts 13-foot ceilings, Corinthian columns, and 10-foot west-facing windows. The space also includes a fireplace and ample room for multiple seating areas and a dining table.
The property features a custom-designed kitchen with high-end appliances and butcher block countertops. It has two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, with the primary bedroom offering a unique walk-in closet designed with 'organic curves' to allow access to higher compartments.
This distinctive loft, with its blend of historical architecture and modern luxury, remains a sought-after space in Manhattan's real estate market.
