A major new furniture store is set to open in Glasgow this summer, offering one of the largest retail spaces of its kind in the UK. Located on Hillington Road, the store will cover approximately 50,000 sq ft, with an additional 20,000 sq ft warehouse at the rear for efficient order fulfilment.
The store, operated by Furniture Village, will be the brand's second in Scotland and its 58th nationwide. It will feature an extensive range of furniture, including sofas, cabinets, beds, and bedroom furniture, as well as home furnishing accessories. Re-imagined café bar areas will also be available to enhance the customer experience.
The company's managing director, Charlie Harrison, expressed enthusiasm about the new location, describing it as a "fantastic spot" close to Braehead Shopping Centre and visible from the M8. He noted that this will be the company's largest store in the UK, highlighting the successful expansion following the opening of their first Scottish store in Edinburgh in December 2024.
The new site, formerly the Peter Vardy CARZ showroom, occupies a prime position alongside Hillington Road, near the Abbotsinch Shopping Park and major car dealerships. The store is expected to open in mid-June 2025.
