Air France has announced a partnership with Sofitel to enhance the comfort of its business class passengers with a new mattress topper, set to be introduced in July. This new bedding will be rolled out across the airline's A330, A350, 777, and 787 aircraft, ensuring that all long-haul flights will feature the mattress topper by the end of the year, regardless of departure time or flight duration.
The mattress toppers are designed to fit all business class seats and seat belts across different aircraft types, with "carefully positioned notches" that adapt to the seating arrangement. The topper, along with a pillow, blanket, and slippers, will be placed on the seats before boarding. After each flight, the bedding will be cleaned and repackaged for the next use.
This new bedding follows the recent upgrade of business class seats on selected A350 and 777-300 aircraft, which now feature sliding privacy doors.
Xavier Royaux, Chief Marketing Officer of Sofitel, commented, 'Sleep has always been a cornerstone of the Sofitel experience... Today, thanks to our partnership with Air France, we are delighted to extend this experience to the skies, bringing each traveller unique comfort and softness for a truly restorative sleep.'
In addition to the new mattress toppers, Air France recently unveiled new La Première suites, which will be introduced on a selection of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft starting this spring. These suites feature four units per aircraft, with floor-level storage, two 32-inch TV screens, and a bed that converts into a two-metre-long sleeping space.
