Artigo has made significant strides in the field of sustainability

Artigo has made significant strides in sustainability, a claim also supported by the Artigo rubber collection. The collection utilises ingredients from renewable sources, backings without added pigments, and a significantly higher percentage of recycled material. This contributes to a more efficient use of resources, where what was once waste is now used as an energy source. All of this results in a substantial reduction of environmental impact.

The path to a zero CO₂ footprint is not about simply offsetting or shifting the problem. It is a commitment to actively contribute by addressing the source of emissions, reducing emissions, and thus bringing the future of circular building closer.

Artigo has taken years of preparation and committed to two long-term sustainability projects. The first project is called GAIA and was launched in the fall of 2024. Through project GAIA, significant steps have been made.

What is GAIA? GAIA is a version of our products. It is essentially a purchasing methodology, the result of an eco-design work method where certain ingredients are replaced with more sustainable alternatives. With this approach, we prioritise materials that have a lower environmental impact. For years, we have dedicated our research to finding more sustainable materials, continually striving to integrate recycled and bio-based or renewable material, in line with our environmental goals.

What does GAIA deliver?
GAIA focuses on minimising the GWP (Global Warming Potential) of our products and finding a second life for our by-products and those from other processes. GAIA offers an average reduction of 60% of the Cradle to Gate GWP (Compared to before our Eco-Design intervention)

The first two collections produced according to the GAIA principle are the Uni and Kayar. These feature a silky matte finish and seamless appearance and are now available for professional project applications.
