This international distinction recognises its long-standing commitment to sustainability, social responsibility and positive impact, and further consolidates its leadership in the furniture sector.
The B Corp certification, granted by the non-profit organisation B Lab, distinguishes companies that meet the highest social and environmental performance standards, transparency, and ethical business practices. It also recognises those who are building an inclusive, sustainable, and regenerative economy for people and the planet.
For Actiu, this achievement is the result of decades of work rooted in sustainability and innovation. Thanks to this strategic alignment, the company completed the certification process in just seven months—significantly faster than the usual one to two years.

Actiu has achieved this milestone quickly because sustainability has always been a fundamental part of its DNA. Its dedication to circular economy principles, the use of recyclable and low-impact materials, energy optimisation, and carbon footprint reduction have all played a key role in paving the way toward this certification.
Additionally, the company has developed an energy-efficient industrial model, powered by solar energy and equipped with responsible water management systems, placing it ahead of many competitors still in transition.
Actiu's Technology Park in Castalla (Alicante), inaugurated in 2008, was conceived and built according to sustainable design criteria. In 2019, it became the first industrial company in the world to earn both LEED Platinum and WELL v2 certifications, which measure a building's environmental and wellness performance.
This achievement made the facility the fifth-healthiest building in the world, the second in Europe, and the first in Spain, with one of the highest scores ever awarded under the WELL standard.
In November 2024, Actiu became the first Spanish manufacturer to obtain the Level® 2 FEMB 2023 sustainability certification—the latest standard endorsed by the European Office Furniture Federation (FEMB). Audited by CERTINALIA (Tecnalia Group), the certification validates the company's efforts to integrate sustainability into every product and process.
The Level® certification evaluates sustainability across the entire design, production, and lifecycle of furniture, covering ESG criteria (environmental, social, governance). It spans everything from the selection of recycled materials to energy efficiency and carbon reduction. In Actiu's case, 59 product programs have been certified under this standard, ensuring low environmental impact and high performance.
