A new chapter for Anderson Design Studio

'High-level design and quality service have always been our priority'

After nearly four decades of shaping the interiors of Music City and beyond, Anderson Design Studio is turning the page on a major milestone. The respected luxury interior design firm has named two new partners: Samm Leiby and Olga Lochbihler. This marks a significant shift in its leadership structure.

'Samm, Olga and Katie have pursued excellence in design and leadership throughout their time at Anderson Design Studio,' said founder Kathy Anderson. 'I am proud and honoured to see them step into this new role and become officially invested as the studio grows and relocates to a new neighbourhood.'

Leiby joined the studio in 2016 and brings strong experience in both residential and commercial design. As a partner, she will now lead project management and mentor the design team, while also supporting marketing efforts. Lochbihler, who has been with the studio since 2013, brings her financial expertise from the entertainment, real estate, and fashion industries to her new role. She will continue overseeing all procurement and business operations.

Katie Stix continues as key leadership force
Current partner Katie Stix, NCIDQ, who joined the firm in 2014 and became a partner in 2018, remains a cornerstone of Anderson Design Studio's leadership. A LEED Green Associate, Stix is known for her focus on sustainable, high-end residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

She will continue to lead project management and design guidance, with ongoing involvement in marketing and business development. Alongside Leiby, Stix will remain deeply engaged in managing client and vendor relationships.

Kathy Anderson takes on new role as Chairwoman
After 37 years at the helm, Kathy Anderson is stepping into a new chapter herself—as chairwoman of the studio she founded in 1988. Though stepping back from daily operations, Anderson will continue nurturing long-standing client relationships and mentoring the studio's partners.

She also plans to expand the Kathy Anderson Collection flooring line in collaboration with Mansion Hill Custom Floors and explore new product development. 'I also plan to spend more time in the community and with my family,' she shared.

Relocating to Wedgewood-Houston: a design-forward move
The announcement of new partners comes as Anderson Design Studio relocates from downtown Nashville to 407 Humphreys Street in the creative Wedgewood-Houston district. The new location places the firm amid a thriving hub of national and global design brands.

'High-level design and quality service have always been our priority at Anderson Design Studio, and I'm fully confident that our new partners will maintain and elevate this dedication,' Anderson said.

Rooted in Nashville, poised for the future
Anderson Design Studio is best known for iconic projects such as the Grand Ole Opry House, Gaylord Opryland, The Ryman Auditorium VIP areas, and Blake Shelton's Ole Red. The studio was also recently named a finalist in the 2024 HD Awards for its design of boutique Hotel Zelda Dearest in Asheville.

As the firm approaches its 40th year, its talented team of licensed designers continues to shape eye-catching, functional interiors for Nashville and beyond—now under the leadership of a trusted new generation.
