Virginia Arlotto debuts "Sassolino" and "Doppio" with Collector at Milan Design Week 2025

Italian designer Virginia Arlotto introduces two new furniture collections, Sassolino and Doppio, in collaboration with Collector, as part of Milan Design Week 2025. Presented under the exhibition title Timeless Modernity, the launch takes place at Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi 71 in the heart of Brera on April 9th from 5:30 PM to 9 PM.

Arlotto's latest works reflect her signature approach to materiality, softness of form, and refined craftsmanship, underscoring Collector's commitment to emotionally resonant, enduring design.

SASSOLINO side tables: sculptural serenity
Unveiled for the first time, the Sassolino side table collection draws inspiration from the organic beauty of nature-worn pebbles. Crafted in solid oak, the tables feature fluid, rounded silhouettes and a tactile, sculptural appeal.

Each piece is delicately finished with a whitewashed edge, enhancing the grain and natural elegance of the wood. A recessed, tray-like circular surface adds depth and functionality—ideal for holding objects while also serving as a quiet design statement.

'Sassolino brings a sense of tactile serenity to contemporary interiors,' the studio explains. 'Balancing minimalism and warmth, Sassolino reflects Arlotto's sensitivity to form, material, and timeless craftsmanship.'

This debut reinforces Collector's mission to elevate bold design voices rooted in quality and emotion.

DOPPIO dining chair: duality in design
Also premiering is the Doppio Chair, an architectural yet inviting dining chair that blends sculptural clarity with comfort. Its name, Doppio—Italian for "double"—captures the chair's inherent duality: "soft and strong, playful and architectural."

The design consists of a geometric base paired with a plush, curved backrest, upholstered in rich, textured fabric. A matching circular cushion completes the composition, creating a balanced dialogue of volume and proportion.

'Doppio is a bold yet inviting statement piece,' the studio shares. 'Doppio embodies Collector's ethos of timeless design with a contemporary soul.'

About Virginia Arlotto
Virginia Arlotto is the founder of her eponymous Milan-based studio, providing interior architecture and design services across retail, commercial and private projects. Her work spans furniture design and creative direction, blending fashion aesthetics with design discipline.

Arlotto began her career in Italy before spending time at Marcel Wanders Studio in Amsterdam. Returning to Milan in 2021, she established her studio with a vision rooted in raw materials, feminine sophistication, and sustainable craftsmanship.

Her style combines "volumes, proportions and neutral colours with a particular inclination for raw and refined materials." Her designs are shaped by "unparalleled savoir-faire quality with a feminine touch," and "an effort around the use of raw materials obtained from natural sources, in order to create long-lasting works."

She is drawn to intelligent material use and enjoys juxtaposing styles, colours, and "a touch of the unexpected."
