The Ludhiana police have claimed to have solved the blind murder case of a furniture and electronic goods shop owner, Dhani Ram Tiwari, with the arrest of two individuals. The arrests were made by Focal Point police, who identified 11 suspects in total.
The arrested men were named as Nand Lal Paswan, a native of Bihar living in Machhi Market, and Jeet Lal from Uttar Pradesh, residing in Dhandari Khurd. According to police officials, the suspects are part of a gang involved in thefts at business premises and factories.
On the night of 24 March, several unidentified assailants forced entry into Tiwari's showroom at Dhandari. Tiwari, who was inside the premises, was bound and attacked with sharp-edged weapons when he attempted to raise an alarm. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh, ACP Jasbinder Singh, and SHO Amandeep Singh Brar stated during a press conference that the assailants had initially intended to commit theft but ended up murdering the shop owner when confronted.
As the case had no initial leads, it was treated as a "blind case", requiring significant investigation to identify the culprits. The police are now conducting raids to apprehend the remaining nine accused, who have been named as Roshan Mota of Jagdish Colony; Sonu, Satinder, and Sunil of Ishwar Colony; and Suraj Kumar, Mithilesh Kumar, Raja Kumar, Radhey Sham Yadav, and Raja Ram, all from Dhandari Khurd.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to dismantle the gang entirely.
