Board leadership transition announced at well-known sleep retailer

A leadership transition has been confirmed at a leading upholstered furniture retailer, as part of its broader succession planning efforts.

Bruce Marsh.

It has been announced that Jo Boydell will retire from the Board following the company's Annual General Meeting scheduled for 14 November 2025. Her departure marks a planned change in governance to ensure continuity and stability.

DFS, the retailer in question, has confirmed that Bruce Marsh, who joined the Board in August 2024, will assume the role of Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee with immediate effect. This move is intended to facilitate a seamless handover before Jo Boydell's formal exit later in the year.

Until her retirement, Jo Boydell will continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director and remain active across several board committees. These include the Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee, Nomination Committee, and the Responsible Sustainable Business Committee.

Chair Steve Johnson expressed his gratitude, stating: 'I would like to thank Jo for her great contribution to the Board and as Chair of the Committee, and I am delighted to have a very experienced successor in Bruce as Chair of the Committee going forward.'
