Story Lorient reopens with fresh design and digital tools

The Story furniture store in Lorient, Brittany, has reopened after a full nine-month renovation. The revamped 1,000m² space, located at 6 avenue Raymond Queudet, officially welcomed customers again on 22 March 2025, under the leadership of new franchisee Florian Tanchou.

The redesign focused on enhancing the shopping experience with improved circulation and a refined layout. The store now includes digital tools such as iPads and 3D modelling to help customers visualise interior design projects. It also offers an 80-space car park and a fully customisable mid-to-high-end furniture range.

Tanchou, originally from Saint-Brieuc, has a background in e-commerce, construction, and outdoor design. At 21, he launched his first business and later managed a large retail store before becoming a customer of the Story brand. After meeting Story manager Xavier Rondeau, he embraced the franchise model and took over the Lorient store. 'My ambition is to offer the people of Lorient a unique support service and tailor-made solutions for their development projects,' Tanchou stated.

Story, which operates nearly 50 franchised locations across France, continues its national expansion with plans to open five to six new stores annually. Rondeau praised Tanchou's entrepreneurial mindset, calling him 'a young franchisee with a dynamic background and a true entrepreneurial vision'.

With its refreshed layout, digital integration, and focus on personalisation, the new Story Lorient reflects the brand's evolving approach to customer experience and modern retail.
