Parador has published its sustainability report for the fiscal year 2024. In the third, updated version, the flooring manufacturer from Coesfeld presents its sustainability measures from the past fiscal year.
Divided into the three focus areas of ecology, economy, and society, Parador's sustainability report provides an in-depth insight into the company's commitment to sustainability. Through texts, infographics, and tables, Parador shows how the company's actions have developed throughout the entire value chain and what sustainable successes were achieved in the past fiscal year. The main results in brief:
The company is positive about its goal to produce climate neutrally at the Coesfeld and Güssing sites by the end of 2025. Since 2020, it has succeeded in reducing its CO2 footprint by 80 percent.
- For the remaining 20%, numerous measures and projects are being implemented. A particularly significant project was launched in the fiscal year 2024: Parador is revising its fleet management and has conducted a survey on the commuting behavior of its employees. Ideas and measures will be derived from the results that will positively influence the ecological footprint in the coming year.
- The circular economy is one of the main themes of sustainability management at Parador. Last year, the first internal workshops took place with management and the departments of product development, product management, and production. A result is an already started project for the return of finished parquet. The company aims to establish a process and introduce initial measures in the near future.
- Moreover, Parador is working intensively on the theme of "circular design" in product development and product management to prioritize the introduction of recyclable products in the future.
- With a focus on its customers, Parador has been intensively engaged with the theme of declaration: For all floor coverings, both EPDs and HPDs are available, providing product users with a detailed insight into the emissions and ingredients of the products.
The report was prepared according to GRI standards and is also based on the criteria of the German Sustainability Code (DNK). In this way, Parador commits to documenting its activities according to global standards for sustainability reporting. The aim of these standards is to ensure comprehensive and targeted sustainability management and to communicate reliable data and content transparently and comprehensively.
As part of the EMAS certification, Parador has been publishing an environmental statement annually since 2016. In the fall of 2022, the first extensive sustainability report followed.
