Briconord expands hardware presence with Scell-it acquisition

The Briconord Group has announced its acquisition of French metal fastening specialist Scell-it, further reinforcing its position in the European hardware market. The deal, formalised on 9 April 2025, aligns with Briconord's external growth strategy, which has been in place since Christian Guillou took over the company in 2015.

Scell-it, based in Lesquin in northern France, has been active since 1988 and employs 48 people. The company is known for its three brands, Scell-it, Atlas and Smartool, and offers a comprehensive range of products including blind rivets, rivet nuts, fastening tools and chemical fixings. These are primarily supplied to professional distributors and large DIY retailers.

Franck Debruyne, President of Scell-it, said: 'Joining Briconord is a real opportunity for Scell-it. We are joining a group that shares our values, alongside strong brands and committed employees. We are looking forward to starting this new adventure.'

The acquisition significantly strengthens Briconord's portfolio, which already includes brands such as Norail, Starblock, Interges, Cime, CQFD, Louis Moulin, Nordlinger Pro, Easy Protect and Maclean. These brands span a wide array of sectors including screws and bolts, furniture hardware, garden design, kitchen accessories and flooring.

Briconord now operates across six sites in France and the Netherlands, employing 420 people. The group reports an annual turnover of over €156 million, with nearly 30% derived from exports.

Christian Guillou, President of the Briconord Group, commented: 'This acquisition allows us to pursue our ambition of building a French leader in screws and fasteners and to provide an even more comprehensive response to the needs of our customers.'
