Giovanardi, a leading Italian producer of technical and design textiles, returned to the 63rd edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano with a bold statement on sustainability. Exhibiting in Hall 18 – S.Project, Booth C11, the company unveiled a visionary #Green stand, centred on the theme "Thought for Humans," and introduced its latest developments in circular design through two key brands: Raytent and Refelter.
The exhibition space was conceived as a cohesive yet multifaceted environment, 'intimate and welcoming, where sustainability becomes the defining element that shapes and gives meaning to the space.' Nature, traditionally linked to outdoor settings, was harmoniously integrated with interiors, offering an architectural narrative of environmental responsibility.
Refelter: transforming retail waste into design
Making its mark as a first in post-consumer recycling, Refelter presented an innovative process that transforms printed polyester retail banners into thermoformable felt panels. These panels are suitable for acoustic wall systems, furniture components, and accessories.
Key pieces on display included:
- Decorative and sound-absorbing wall panelling, created by combining thermoformed Refelter panels with recycled polyester fabric.
- A designer bench by Daniele Dalla Pellegrina, constructed from the same materials.
'The thermoformed felt, made from recycled polyester fabric, is itself recyclable, as it is a monomaterial component.'
Raytent: upcycling awnings into high-performance textiles
Giovanardi's flagship Raytent brand continued its mission to upcycle awning industry waste into certified ReMade in Italy yarns. The resulting Raytent Living and Raytent Drapery collections deliver soft, durable and technically advanced indoor-outdoor fabrics, processed with less water, fewer chemicals, and lower CO₂ emissions.
The 2025 edition marked Raytent's new collaboration with Gart, a creative design firm from Padua, culminating in a Made in Italy collection that combines technical innovation with artisan craftsmanship. Featured products included:
- The Positano sofa and Gio tables, crafted with Raytent Living's new Dafne, Tagete, and Azalea fabrics in serene green and blue tones.
- Decorative curtains made from the Raytent Drapery Mimosa line.
Outdoor collections with Garda Outdoor Furniture, including:
- Grof seating and Ataman tables
- Bianca seating and tables for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector
- A bespoke lamp and poufs in Raytent Ropes
- Additionally, a new rug by Paolo Zani for Warli and poufs from Irisun Living highlighted the broad reach of Giovanardi's sustainable vision.
Raytent's textile innovation took a step further with twisted yarns, offering natural aesthetics across three new patterns: Tagete (houndstooth), Dafne (small motif), and Azalea (plain with linen effect). All were created with dobby looms and delivered superior environmental and performance credentials, including water-repellency, stain-resistance, mould-resistance, and UV stability.
A legacy of innovation

'GIOVANARDI reaffirms its commitment to circular design textiles, offering cutting-edge solutions for a more responsible, sophisticated, and innovative approach to furniture.'
