To mark a decade of collaboration with Venetian designer Luca Nichetto, Danish design house &Tradition unveils a limited edition of its iconic Lato table. The piece, produced in just 100 units, reinterprets the original 2013 design through a striking combination of materials and a celebration of cultural hybridity.

The limited edition Lato maintains the sculptural silhouette that has made it an enduring design, while introducing new materiality. A milky onyx base, echoing the language of precious gemstones, ensures each table is unique thanks to the natural variations of the stone. This is paired with brushed steel, lending what &Tradition describes as "a modern yet industrial edge."
"Over these ten years, this hybrid identity has become my way of working, combining Italian passion for craft and storytelling with Scandinavian discipline and focus," comments Nichetto. "It's no longer about choosing between the two, but about allowing them to enrich each other naturally."
First launched more than a decade ago, Lato was inspired by the sweets Nichetto's grandmother would give him as a child. Its distinctive form – reminiscent of an inverted lollipop – is "graphic and poetic in equal measure," defined by a solid stone base supporting a slender stem and rounded tabletop.
The release is presented alongside an international exhibition staged in Milan, Paris and Dubai. Exploring the intersection of cultural identity and contemporary design, the exhibition traces Nichetto's creative journey and features a curated selection of his designs for &Tradition. It reflects his ability to merge storytelling with a compelling visual language, underscoring the designer's role in shaping the brand's narrative over the past ten years.
An emblem of cross-cultural exchange and craftsmanship, the limited edition Lato highlights &Tradition's commitment to marrying heritage with innovation. Established in Copenhagen in 2010, the company continues to work with internationally acclaimed designers to bring forward furniture, lighting and interior objects that bridge past and present.
