As the leading voice for the UK bathroom industry, the Association champions sustainability and recognises members' efforts to reduce environmental impact. This year's awards celebrated a wave of innovation across the sector, but it was Roca Group's pioneering Electric Kiln that stood out as a world-first achievement in industrial ceramic production.

The electric kiln represents a major milestone in the decarbonisation of ceramics, a traditionally energy-intensive industry. By eliminating reliance on fossil fuels, the technology significantly reduces carbon emissions while introducing new levels of energy efficiency, precision, and product quality. With intelligent energy management systems that dynamically adjust input to minimise waste, the kiln sets a benchmark for sustainable manufacturing.

"This recognition is an incredible honour," said Rashpal Sidhu, Managing Director of Roca UK and Ireland. "Roca Group has a global commitment to a greener future, and our electric kiln is at the heart of that mission. To have our work acknowledged by peers in these prestigious awards is truly fantastic, and I want to thank the Bathroom Association on behalf of everyone at Roca Group."

Daphne Doody-Green, Chief Executive of the Bathroom Association, praised the innovation: "Roca Group's Electric Kiln is a shining example of how our industry can rise to the challenge of climate change. It demonstrates how bold ideas and technological advances can transform traditional processes into sustainable solutions for the future."

The judging panel highlighted the exceptional calibre of entries, with commendations awarded to several finalists for their impactful sustainability projects. Shortlisted companies included Thomas Dudley Limited, Kohler Mira, Triton Showers, and eco-cistemâ„¢, all of whom showcased solutions advancing water and energy efficiency.

The Connect Conference Gala Dinner provided an opportunity for leaders and innovators from across the bathroom industry to come together, celebrating not only award winners but also the sector's shared drive toward a more sustainable, climate-conscious future.

With its revolutionary Electric Kiln, Roca Group has firmly positioned itself as a global leader in sustainable manufacturing, proving that environmental responsibility and design excellence can go hand in hand.
