Light + Building trade fair sets course for 2026

With six months to go, anticipation is building for Light + Building 2026, the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology, taking place in Frankfurt from 8 to 13 March 2026.

Around 2,000 exhibitors from 70 countries – from global market leaders to design-driven start-ups – have already confirmed participation. This strong international presence underscores the fair's role as a key global platform for innovation, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities.

Under the motto "Be Electrified – Electrifying Places. Illuminating Spaces.", the fair will highlight three key themes:

  • Sustainable Transformation – climate-friendly building with renewables, energy management, and resource-saving materials.
  • Smart Connectivity – digital transformation, data-based control, and networked efficiency.
  • Living Light – the creative and emotional impact of lighting on people and spaces.
    Exhibition Highlights:

Lighting – technical, decorative, urban, emergency, and design-driven luminaires spread across multiple halls. Key players include Signify, Zumtobel, Trilux, Osram, Ledvance, and Bega.
Building Services & Technology – electrification, automation, smart grids, photovoltaics, and energy management, with leading names such as ABB, Gira, Jung, Schneider Electric, and Siemens.

Programme Highlights:

  • Design Plaza (Hall 3.1): lectures, talks, and the Designplus Awards powered by Light + Building.
  • IALD International Lighting Design Awards: celebrating outstanding projects worldwide.
  • Workshop Street: live demonstrations for the electrical trade.
  • Power Creator Days: connecting the social media community with industry players.
  • ZVEI Technology Forum & ZVEH E-House: showcasing real-world smart home applications.
