Polish seating specialist Nowy Styl Group has announced the closure of its German subsidiary Kusch + Co's factory and administration building in Hallenberg, Sauerland, by 21 March 2026. The Hallenberg site, which has produced chairs, armchairs, and tables for airports, hospitals, and offices for 85 years, will cease production at the end of this year.

The closure affects around 110 employees. Nowy Styl plans to offer positions at its Voigtei site in southern Lower Saxony, roughly 200 km from Hallenberg, and is collaborating with local companies to find alternative employment for those impacted.
Christian Jenner, Kusch + Co board member, said the company is "aware of the significance of this situation for Hallenberg" and will work with the works council and other institutions to support employees during the transition, aiming to make the process "transparent and responsible".
The decision follows months of short-time working at Nowy Styl's German plants, as the company reorganises its domestic production. Kusch + Co, a long-standing name in contract seating, has supplied furniture to major public and commercial clients throughout Germany.
