XL Byg Outrup, a long-standing timber business in western Jutland, will close on 1 November 2025, ending over 100 years of local trading. The closure follows the sale of Outrup Tømmerhandel to XL Byg in 2016, a business that had been operated by the same family for three generations.

The company is currently holding a clearance sale as it winds down operations. Despite this local closure, XL Byg A.m.b.a. reported growth in its most recent financial year, with turnover rising by DKK 160 million to DKK 4.8 billion, according to a new industry analysis published by Building Supply.
The closure marks the end of an era for the Outrup community, where the timber trade had been a key local business for more than a century, reflecting broader shifts in the retail and construction supply sectors.
